The Final Multiplex Steering Committee Report gave the total cost of the multiplex that was approved on its recommendation to be $61,287,116. This is the number still being used by the City of Moose Jaw. It is not accurate.

The very report that produced this cost stated clearly, "a $61.3 million project budget based on awarding the contract prior to December 31, 2008" (page 41).

This same report further states that the annual construction inflation is 18%.

Accordingly, the 2009 estimated cost of this same project should be $72,318,797.

The report containing this information was presented to Moose Jaw City Council on June 16, 2008. It will be very difficult for them to deny knowledge of this cost increase prior to the February 25, 2009 referendum.

This new cost also means a cost overrun topping $11 million. Another $11million borrowed over 25 years will cost $775,677 per year. Yet another 6.9% increase in municipal taxes.
