Losing $23 Million

Mayor Dale McBain has recently claimed that a "no" vote in the February 25th referendum will cost the City of Moose Jaw $23 million in federal funding.

The federal government has now announced the first round of grants. Moose Jaw received nothing.

All grants were issued to core infrastructure projects, such as roads, sewers and bridges. None was allotted for recreational facilities.

Moose Jaw city council may well be who threw away $23 million in federal grants when, on June 16th, they decided to request funding for a multiplex rather than core infrastructure projects.
